I can't stop this feeling the future is erasing

It's high tide and open season, to destroy this land of it's worth
Open up your eyes, it's hard facts or comfortable lies
There is no future on a dead earth

If you can't drink the water on the hot and dry days
If you can't breath the fumes from the gas fields that knock you sideways
And if the parliament hallway always surrenders
To those who represent the pockets of the moneylenders

No matter what you learn, no matter how you grow
No matter where you turn, you can't escape what you know
And it may not suit you, but there is no future on a dead earth

Maybe it's our time, our time to shine, shine, shine
And declare to the whole world what this country's worth

Cos I believe in a future, a future for my children
And a future for your children on this good earth

There is no reason we can't make that future work
